This comprehensive foundation program is designed for individuals who wish to enter the professional world of pet grooming and build a strong, confident base of knowledge and practical skills.

You will learn:

  • • Cosmetics and dermocosmetology
  • • Dog safety during the grooming process
  • • Professional handling techniques
  • • First aid fundamentals
  • • Basic care: bathing, drying, brushing
  • • Hygienic care: ears, eye area, and nails
  • • Basic clipping techniques
  • • Hygienic scissor techniques: trimming between paw pads, rounding paws, shaping hair around intimate areas, trimming around the eyes and ears
  • • Removal of dead coat

• Introduction to spa treatments: hydromassage and ozone baths

Career Opportunities

Upon completion of the program, you will be qualified to work as a Grooming Assistant in a professional grooming salon. You will be able to assist in preparing dogs and cats for advanced grooming procedures and independently perform basic grooming services.

Practical Skills You Will Master

• Bathing and coat preparation
• Selecting and using appropriate cosmetic products
• Proper drying techniques for different coat types and breeds
• Performing hygienic grooming procedures, including: paw and pad care, intimate area hygiene, trimming around the eyes and ears, body clipping, nail trimming

Your Next Step

With the knowledge gained, you will also have the foundation to start your own grooming business, with the understanding that further practice is required for advanced techniques such as hand stripping and breed-specific styling. You will already be able to independently handle clients requiring basic grooming services, including brushing, dead coat removal, bathing, drying, hygienic care, and basic trimming.

This program includes a final knowledge assessment.
